BioLarry Kreiser joined the faculty at Stillman College in the fall of 2004. He and his wife, Alicia, have two children. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Kreiser is a long-suffering Browns and Indians fan.
Research InterestsThe Civil War era and popular culture in American history.
Papers/PublicationsKreiser is the author of Defeating Lee: A History of the Second Corps, Army of the Potomac (Indiana University Press, 2011); and the coauthor of
Voices of Civil War America: Contemporary Accounts of Daily Life (Greenwood Press, 2011); and The Civil War and Reconstruction (2004), a volume in Greenwood Press’s series on American Popular Culture Through History. Kreiser has discussed his research during an interview on Civil War Talk Radio, a weekly, hour-long, internet-based radio talk show, and contributed an online essay on why Civil War soldiers fought to the New York Times. He currently has under contract with the University Press of Kentucky a volume on the memory of the Civil War in popular culture.
